State Maritime University named after Admiral F. F. Ushakov- federal state budgetary educational institution higher education(FGBOU VO). Located in Novorossiysk. Trains various specialists for the civil and merchant fleet. The training of personnel for maritime transport is carried out in accordance with the State educational standards, consistent with the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) International Convention on Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) . More than 300 teachers teach at the university. Among them are 29 doctors of sciences and professors, 198 candidates of sciences and associate professors.

Story

A department for promoting the employment of graduates has been created at the State Medical University. For competitions of sports teams, the university rents halls, purchases uniforms and equipment. The university has three student dormitories.

Certification and accreditation

In accordance with the license of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the academy conducts training under the programs of secondary and higher professional education, as well as under the programs of additional and postgraduate education. State diplomas and certificates of the Academy meet the requirements of international conventions and are recognized by all countries of the world. For maritime specialties, the academy is accredited by the Council of Europe and the International Maritime Organization.

Southern Regional Center for Additional Professional Education (until 2012)

Southern Regional Center for Continuing Professional Education (YURTSDPO), as a structural subdivision of the Moscow State University. Admiral Ushakov, was organized in accordance with the order of the Minister of Transport Russian Federation in August 1997 due to the growing demand of the maritime industry, shipping and crewing companies for highly qualified ship personnel. The teaching staff was formed in a short time, most of the instructors with experience on ships and degrees and titles, were trained in foreign and domestic educational centers. Modern simulators were purchased and appropriate training programs were developed.

YURTSDPO provides training in accordance with the national requirements of the Russian Federation and the requirements of international conventions. At the end of the training, students receive the necessary level of training and are capable of conscientiously and safely performing their duties.

The quality management system complies with the ISO 9001:2000 standard and is controlled by the DNV classification society (Norway).

Institute for Advanced Studies

In 2012, the Southern Regional Center for Additional Professional Education (YURTSDPO) was reorganized into the Institute for Advanced Studies (IPK), which included the following structural units:

  • Southern Regional Center for Additional Professional Education (YURTSDPO);
  • Maritime Training Center (MTC);
  • Coastal Training and Simulation Center (BUTC);
  • Center for Integrated Security in Transport (TsKBT).

Today, the IPK is the largest training center in the Russian Federation, which provides special training for personnel of ships, ports and shipping companies in accordance with the national requirements of the Russian Federation and the requirements of international conventions (MK STCW-78, SOLAS 74, MARPOL 73/78, ISPS Code and etc.).
